TIDINGS OUT OF THE EAST AND OUT OF THE NORTH OF DANIEL 11:44 : THE THREE ANGELS MESSAGES

Updated: Nov 9

As stated previously in other parts of this website dealing with Daniel 11 and the King of the North, words used at the beginning of the chapter do not necessarily retain a literal meaning toward the end of the chapter especially after the transition from the LITERAL Imperial Rome of the Caesars to the SPIRITUAL Rome of the popes. Verse 44 is another example of this.

EAST & NORTH do not mean literal directions of the compass.

East and North refer to the origin of the messages, that they come from God.

THE GOSPEL TIDINGS COME OUT OF THE EAST

God's people who have been giving the three angels messages of Revelation 14 will arise to give the Loud Cry of Revelation 18:1- 4, the gospel “TIDINGS.”

Read also Isaiah 59:19 - Isaiah 60:3.

TIDINGS OUT OF THE EAST AND THE NORTH

These tidings are not good tidings for the King of the North. They symbolically come from the East and North showing them to be messages from God which Papal Rome and her Protestant daughters will not be happy with:

  • The heralds of Christʼs first Advent came from the East - Matt 2:1

  • Christ second Advent is said to occur from the East - Matt 24:27

  • The angel having the seal of God is said to come from the East - Rev 7:2.

  • As the seal of God does not come from the literal east, the points of the compass are not to be understood literally.

  • God came from the North in Ezekiel 1:4.

  • Cyrus, who was a type or forerunner of Christ came from the East & the North (Isa 41:2, 25; 46:11; Jer 50:3, 9).

  • Cyrus dried up the literal Euphrates River and conquered literal Babylon

  • Cyrus delivered Godʼs people.

  • What Cyrus did to literal Babylon, Christ will do to spiritual Babylon.

  • One day men will seek the Word of God but it will be too late.

  • They are presented as looking for the WORD in the north & east, the very places from which it is represented as having come. (Amos 8:11-12). See also Matt 24:27.

THESE TIDINGS TROUBLE & INFURIATES THE KING OF THE NORTH

Tidings trouble the King of the North and therefore he shall go forth with great fury to destroy, and utterly to make away many.

The faithful will give the everlasting Gospel.

The Gospel includes the three angels messages of Rev 14:6-12.

The Gospel calls for the keeping of ALL Godʼs commandments

The Gospel also identifies the Beast of Rev 13:1-10 as Papal Rome

It points out the mark of the beast (Rev 14:6-12).

These tidings from the East & North infuriates the King of the North (Papal Rome)

Papal Rome through her harlot daughters will go forth with great fury to destroy the faithful (cf. Matt 2:1-13).

“The two armies will stand distinct and separate, and this distinction will be so marked that many who shall be convinced of the truth will come on the side of Godʼs commandment-keeping people. When this grand work is to take place in the battle, prior to the last closing conflict, many will be imprisoned, many will flee for their lives from cities and towns, and many will be martyrs for Christʼs sake in standing in defense of the truth...You will not be tempted above what you are able to bear. Jesus bore all this and far more. . . .” E.G. White, Selected Messages, Vol. 3, p397-398.

Tidings out of the East and out of the North represent messages which come from God. These meassages are given in the "time of the end" i.e. sometime after 1798. These messages are the three angels messages of Revelation 14:6-12 & Revelation 18:1-4

Finally a universal Death Decree will be passed on all those who keep all the commandments of God instead of the mark of the beast. (Revelation 13:15).

God bless

Elias
